2009 Women to Watch!![]() Mass High Tech Publisher Mike Olivieri (Mathematics '85) held the sixth annual Mass High Tech Women to Watch event at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, MA on Thursday evening, 12 March, 2009. This event honors 10 Women to Watch in the high-tech sector. Mike sponsored a table for 10 for UMass Lowell women science students (and the Dean). Environmental Sciences).Summer Opportunities in Science (SOS) 2009 gets off to a great start![]() In order to attract more students to the sciences, Science Dean Bob Tamarin funds a group of students who will be entering the University as freshmen in the Sciences in September. The students will work in the labs of faculty members, spending their summers on campus getting to know the University and forging friendships with other science majors. Students will be working with Physicists, Biologists, Mathematicians, and Computer Scientists through August.
